On 4th March Marjorie came to a themed support session on preparing for meetings and the role of the supporter. Marjorie has very kindly given us her Powerpoint which can be downloaded by clicking on the above link. Her talk was very informative and feedback from those attending was highly positive. We will definitely be inviting Marjorie back to talk again.
Mindfulness means being awake. It means knowing what you are doing because you have stopped for a while and watched, listened, understood.’ Jon Kabat-Zinn
Over the four sessions of this course we will explore a range of different mindfulness practices and some theoretical background. There will also be time to share our own experiences during the practices. To build on the learning and help to include mindfulness into everyday life, there will be some tasks to do between the sessions. This course is suitable for people new to mindfulness and for people with previous experience. The sessions will be led by Katja Neumann, Chartered Clinical Psychologist and Mindfulness Teacher.
When: 7.00pm – 8.30pm followed by chance to chat until 9pm on Thursday evenings 28 February, 7, 14 and 21 March 2019
Where: Aboyne, venue to be confirmed
The course costs £20. Places are limited, so please email email@example.com to book.

‘Understanding our emotions, recognising their influence on us and learning to express them appropriately and accurately are all key to getting along well with others and achieving our goals in life. In this session we will look at the crucial role we can play as parents and carers in helping children to gain these important skills of emotional literacy. We explore ways in which we can encourage children to develop awareness of their emotions. We’ll take a closer look at emotional reactions and see how a framework for understanding them can also be a great help for us as parents, not only to assist our children but also in helping us to maintain our own balance in the face of very challenging behaviours and circumstances.’
When: 10.00am – 12 noon on Wednesday 9 January 2019
Where: The Community Room, Tesco, Harlaw Rd, Inverurie, AB51 4SR.
This stand alone workshop costs £5, payable in advance. Places are limited so please email firstname.lastname@example.org to book.
